Monday
We depart and make our way to the northeast and arriving late afternoon at ManorHouse Hotel. A welcome drink awaits on arrivaland we enjoy 4 nights stay with dinner, bed andbreakfast.

Tuesday
Today's outing takes us north into Northumberlandand the Kielder Forest Park. Here we enjoy a boat trip around Kielder Water before our returntaking us through Bellingham and the North TyneValley, continuing south into County Durhamto the hotel.

Wednesday
This morning we visit the ancient and historic city ofDurham, acclaimed as a WorldHeritage Site and is dominated by the magnificentNorman castle high above the river Wear. We can explore the city with its labyrinth oflittle streets and alleyways, or you mayfancy a stroll by the river. During the afternoonwe leave Durham and return to the hotel.

Thursday
Leaving after breakfast we begin our day with adrive to the market town of Barnard Castle. Known as‘Barny’ to the locals, you can see where CharlesDickens immortalised ’Dothboys Hall’. We thenvisit the Bowes Museum, just outside the town.Its a majestic French style chateau, opened in1892 and will amaze you with its its superb collections including the Silver Swan which swoops down majesticallyto collect silver fish, a feat of mechanical engineering and a sheer delight to watch.

Friday
After breakfast we depart for home.

The Manor House Hotel and Country Club,

West Auckland, is a 14th century manor

house in its own grounds in the village of

West Auckland. Once a hunting lodge for

Henry VII, the house is steeped in history.

All the comfortable bedrooms are en suite

and have colour TV, telephone, hairdryer

and tea/coffee making facilities. Relax in the

Beehive Bar with its magnificent fireplace

and original beehive oven. The hotel has its

own health club with indoor swimming pool.

The hotel does not have a lift.
