We depart and make our way to thenortheast and arriving late afternoon for thenext 4 nights stay with dinner, bed and breakfast.
During your stay
• Visit to the historic city of Durham, wellknown for its huge cathedral sat overlookingthe rest of the city and its beautiful cityscape- Maybe enjoy a stroll along the riversideor visit Durham cathedral with its greatarchitecture and peaceful surroundings.• Excursion to the famous Beamish North ofEngland Open Air Museum, capturing thespirit of the North East in the 1800’s and1900’s. Attractions include restored tramand replica bus rides, authentic town street,and colliery village, go down the mine, oldfashioned sweet shop, working farm, steamlocomotives and much more.• Barnard Castle, where in this little townyou can see where Dickens immortalised‘Dothboys Hall’, take a look at Cromwell’srefuge, browse around the antique shops orvisit the castle itself, high above the Tees.• Visit to Bowes Museum, just outside thetown. It is a majestic French-style chateau,opened in 1892 and you will be amazed byits superb collection.
Friday
After breakfast we leave and begin ourjourney home.
