Visit the historic City of Durham. The Norman Castle and Cathedral are perched high above the River Wear. We also feature a visit to Bowes Museum near Barnard Castle on this NEW tour.

Friday
We depart and make our way Northeast and our hotel for the next 3 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.
Saturday
We travel to the City of Durham and a day of Christmas excitement. There is a wide range of shops, the traditional Victorian indoor market with Christmas stalls, street theatre, jugglers andVictorian-clad peddlers.
Sunday
We begin our day with a drive to the market town of Barnard Castle. Known as ‘Barny’ to the locals, we have time to explore the town before our visit to Bowes Museum, just outside the town. This is one of County Durham's biggest surprises.
Monday
After breakfast we depart for home.

The Holiday Inn Darlington/Scotch Corner is just a short drive from our visits and is an ideal base for this tour. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool and gym, bar and lounge. All bedrooms are en suite with TV, telephone, and tea/coffee making facilities. The hotel has a lift.
