We depart and make our way toLlandrindod Wells where we enjoy 4 nights staywith dinner, bed and breakfast.
A full day excursion to Aberystwythand the Vale of Rheidol Railway. We catch themorning train along the former Great Westernline to Devil’s Bridge – this was the last route tooperate steam trains for British Rail, the linepassed into private ownership in 1989. We takea break at Devil’s Bridge and have time forrefreshments before the return train. LeavingAberystywyth we make our way to scenic ElanValley and Visitor Centre.
This morning we head along theWye Valley to Monmouth and the City ofHereford, with its magnificent cathedral. We haveour lunch stop and have time to explore beforereturning to our hotel.
For our final outing we head norththrough lovely scenery to Newtown. Here wehave a short break with the chance to explorethe town. Later we are on our way to Welshpoolfor our lunch halt. This afternoon we visit theawesome Powys Castle and Gardens. Formerly amedieval fortress, now a family home furnishedwith sumptuous fabrics and exquisite works ofart from around the world. The renownedgardens are a mix of Italianate terraces andformal garden. From here we return to the hotelfor our final night.
After breakfast we leave and begin ourjourney home.
