Plan My Trip

Sunday
We depart and make our way to Devonarriving late afternoon at the Royal andFortescue Hotel. Here we enjoy the next4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast.

Monday
Our first stop this morning is the picturesque resort of Lynmouth where we have time to explore the narrow streetsand maybe take the cliff railway to the twinvillage of Lynton. From here we make our waythrough scenic 'Little Switzerland', as the region is known, to the lovely village ofDunster, with it's famous castle andoctagonal Yarn Market. Our return takesus through Exford and the Exmoor NationalPark.

Tuesday
Today is market day in Barnstaple and we have the day free to explore the town withits elegan Georgian buildings. Barnstaple, on a crook of land between the Rivers Taw and Yeo, retains the charms of it's ancient origins and at it's heart is the splendid town hall building. The High Street is partly pedestrianised and thePannier Market with its great canopied roofis a focal point.

Wednesday
This morning we visit the Atlantic Village Outletwith the chance to search for a bargain inthe stores before we make our way to theancient seaport of Bideford, delightfully seton the banks of the River Torridge. The 17thcentury quay dates its importance as a trading port when ships left for destinationsfar and wide. The Long Bridge over the River Torridge is very impressive.

Thursday
After breakfast we head home.
