We depart and make our way Northeast, arriving late afternoon at Blackwell Grange Hotel. We enjoy 4 nights with dinner, bed and breakfast and tea/coffee and biscuits are served on arrival.

During your stay
• The market town of Barnard Castle (known as ‘Barny’ to the locals) where we have time to explore the town.• Bowes Museum, one of County Durham’s biggest surprises. Housed in a majestic French-style chateau, the museum opened in 1892 and will amaze you with its superb collection of art including the beautiful Silver Swan automaton.• Bishop Auckland and Auckland Castle. This proud home of the Bishops of Durham stands as one of the best-preserved Bishop’s Palaces in Europe. Enjoy time at leisure to explore the castle andstaterooms.• An all-access ticket to the other attractions in the town centre managed by The Auckland Project, including a Mining Art Gallery, Spanish Art Gallery, Faith Museum and the Auckland Tower.• The historic city of Durham, acclaimed as a World Heritage Site and dominated by the magnificent Norman cathedral and castle sitting high above the River Wear.
