Itinerary Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Gloucester with a lunch stop made en-route. Arrive at the hotel late afternoon for a four night stay.Day 2 Today you will pass by Stroud, described by Jasper Conran as ‘the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds’, en-route to Cirencester, ‘capital of the Cotswolds’ with time to wander around this lovely town before heading to Royal Tetbury, world-renowned for its unique Royal associations. In the afternoon you will visit Chavenage House, a stunning 16th century, Cotswold stone manor house. The house has been featured as ‘Trenwith’ – the Poldark family manor from the popular TV series.
Day 3 Morning in Gloucester to look around the historic city centre and visit the magnificent Cathedral. In the afternoon you head for the restored and very impressive Victorian Docks. Here you will visit the National Waterways Museum and enjoy a cruise on the Sharpness Canal. Afterwards time for a stroll around the Docks and visit the Merchant’s Quay with unique and unusual shops, cafes and bars.
Day 4 Today will take you along the shore road of the River Severn to the historic town of Chepstow for a short break before you meander north up the beautiful Wye Valley passing the ruins of Tintern Abbey. Lunch stop today is in delightful Monmouth and afterwards you will take a cruise on the River Wye at Symonds Yat.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
