ItineraryItineraryDay 1 Early morning departure for the journey north to Holyhead for the 14.10 hours Irish Ferries sailing to Dublin. On arrival you will travel to Enniskerry for an overnight stop.
Day 2 This morning you will have some free time in Bray, known as the Gateway to the Garden of Ireland and is also the longest established seaside town in Ireland. You will then travel west across Ireland to Westport and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 3 A free day in Westport, so why not begin your day by taking full advantage of the hotel’s extensive leisure facilities. Westport, built beside the Carrowbeg river has been a regular winner of Ireland’s Tidiest Town Award, with its flower baskets and graceful tree-lined streets, the Mall and is built on the Carrowbeg River. Westport House is an attractive 18th century mansion, with well laid gardens which is within easy reach and worth a visit.
Day 4 Today you will travel to Galway City, famous for its maritime history, and known as the ‘City of the Tribes’. Galway sits perched on the roaring River Corrib and overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. A short stroll down the winding streets of this walkable small city brings you into another world. Dubbed Ireland’s most charming city by The New York Times, also home of the Galway International Arts Festival and European Capital of Culture in 2020. In the afternoon enjoy one of the highlights of the tour, a lovely lake cruise aboard the Corrib Princess including tea and scones, with a full commentary.
Day 5 A scenic day tour to Connemara. Follow the shoreline by way of Louisburgh for breath-taking views of the islands and Croagh Patrick, Ireland’s Holy Mountain. Continue through the haunting beauty of the Doo Lough Valley to the picturesque village of Leenane, the location for the film ‘The Field’. Follow the coast road to Killary Harbour, at the start of Ireland’s only fjord with its miles of sheltered water and splendid scenery. You will then visit Kylemore Abbey, a neo-gothic castle mirrored in its own lake, which was originally owned by a millionaire and is now run by Benedictine nuns. Returning to the hotel by way of Aasleagh and Liscarney.
Day 6 Depart from Westport and travel east to Dublin for some free time before transferring to the hotel in Bray for your overnight stop.
Day 7 An early start to the port of Dublin for the 08.05 hours sailing to Holyhead with breakfast on board the ferry. On arrival you will commence the homeward journey.
