Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north and to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 A free day to visit the Piece Hall in Halifax, a unique Grade 1 listed building dating back to 1779, originally built to support the trading of ‘pieces’ of cloth and now a new heritage and cultural destination. Home to one of the most striking piazzas in Europe, the stunning hall hosts independent shops, cafes, galleries and much more. The Piece Hall is the only surviving intact cloth hall in the UK and an iconic symbol of the important role played by Georgian Halifax at the booming centre of the world’s woollen trade.
Day 3 Today you will travel to Leeds and the Royal Armouries Museum with time to walk round the exhibitions before transferring to Lotherton Hall where you can view galleries with exhibits of Fine Art, Costumes and Textiles. The Hall is surrounded by a formal Edwardian garden and a bird garden containing over 200 different species.
Day 4 This morning you will visit Cliffe Castle Museum, originally the home of Victorian millionaire and textile manufacturer Henry Isaac Butterfield.. In recent years Cliffe Castle has undergone a major refurbishment. You will see sparkling Victorian rooms and furniture, paintings and decorative art. You will then travel to Skipton, full of heritage and culture, independant shops, food and drink places galore, a famouse market, an iconic castle and stunning countyside. Free time to explore before returning to the hotel.
