Welsh Culture Cardiff And Castle

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the hotel near Cardiff for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursions:

• First stop is Caerphilly for a visit to the largest castle in Wales. Explore this 13th century sleeping giant before time at leisure in the town, famous for its cheese. This afternoon journey to St Fagan’s National Museum of History, standing in the magnificent grounds of St Fagans Castle and Gardens, where you can explore the history of people’s everyday lives.

• Begin the day with a short journey into Cardiff where you will meet your guide for a 2 hour walking tour of Cardiff & Cardiff Bay that takes in its historical landmarks and key sights, including Cardiff Castle, the magnificent buildings of the Civic Centre, and the Millennium Stadium. This afternoon visit the Royal Mint Visitor Centre. Here you will have a fascinating tour as you go behind the scenes of coin making.

• This morning journey to the home of Welsh whisky. Nestled in the foothills of the spectacular Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park, immerse yourself in the heritage with a guided tour and tasting at the Penderyn Distillery. Continue on to Brecon with time to purchase lunch before joining a cruise on the beautiful and historic Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart hotel and commence the homeward journey.
