Itinerary

Itinerary

Portmeirion

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the Welsh coast and to Barmouth for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 During your stay, enjoy a free day to explore the area. We have also included two excursions to enhance your visit:- ● A day tour along the coast by way of Llwyngwril and see the knitted sculptures created by the local ‘Yarn Bombers’. Continuing through Tywyn and Aberdovey to the seaside resort and university town of Aberystwyth. The town is nestled between three hills and two beaches, and hosts some castle ruins, a pier and a harbour, with visible remains of an Iron Age fort and also a monument to Wellington. ● A circular tour round the Snowdonia National Park, travelling up the coast past Harlech Castle, crossing over the River Dwyryd and on to Porthmadog by way of the Cob embankment. Have a stroll along the harbour, once a busy port in the 1800s shipping out 1000’s of tons of slate from the nearby mines. Rejoining the coach you will head inland past Blaenau Ffestiniog and the slate mines, circling round to Bala for a comfort stop before returning to hotel.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
