A weekend break for those interested in wartime nostalgia with a chance to visit the amazing aircraft that flew in WWII and discover how the Battle of Britain was won.

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to north London and to the Bentley Priory Museum. This museum tells a fascinating story of this beautiful country house focusing on its role as Headquarters Fighter Command during the Battle of Britain. Explore the important stories of ‘The One – Air Chief Marshall Sir Hugh Dowding’ and the few who took to the skies to defend our country. After your visit you will travel to the hotel in Letchworth for a two night stay.
Day 2 Today is a full day out to Bletchley Park, also known as Station X, the centre for Britain’s codebreakers during WWII. Explore, experience and enjoy the once top-secret world of iconic Codebreaking Huts and Blocks set within an atmospheric Victorian estate. Don’t miss the museum that displays an original ‘Enigma’ machine. On your return to the hotel, you will make a short stop at the pretty town of St Neots on the banks of the Great River Ouse.
Day 3 After breakfast, depart the hotel for the de Havilland Aircraft Museum, the oldest aviation museum in the UK dedicated to the preservation and display of the de Havilland Aircraft. The de Havilland Aircraft Company played an important role in the history of aircraft development in 20th century Britain. Departing the museum at 14.00 to commence the homeward journey
