The Shambles, York

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to Yorkshire and on to Nidd and the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will visit the spa town of Harrogate, with its colourful parks and gardens for some free time, and maybe a visit to the famous Betty’s Tearooms, before returning to the hotel to relax or join in the activities that will be on offer to you.

Day 3 A day trip to the historic walled city of York, with its famous Minster, National Railway Museum, historic museums, galleries and the shopping area of ‘The Shambles’. We have included a one hour cruise on the River Ouse with interesting stories of York’s fascinating and colourful history.

Day 4 Today you will travel to the cathedral city of Ripon, steeped in history and home to some magnificent historical buildings and long observed traditions. You will find a trio of award-winning museums and a gothic cathedral that dates back to the 7th century and a bustling market square. Free time to explore before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
