On this short break you will experience a day trip in coaches (‘charabanc’) used in the 40’s and 50’s, very different from the modern coach that you will travel to Essex in.

ItineraryDay 1 Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Hertfordshire and to St Albans for a lunch stop and free time. Explore their breath-taking Norman cathedral, discover the city’s Roman history or browse around the independent shops. You will then depart for Essex and the hotel in Basildon for a two night stay.
Day 2 The highlight of this tour. Travel through picture postcard villages with a top-notch Blue Badge guide and enjoy the beautiful vintage vehicle collection of Lodge Coaches on the cusp of their centenary. Take two little tours of the beautiful villages of The Rodings in jolly coaches from the 40s and 50s and have your photo taken with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! This bumper day out includes morning coffee, lunch and tea with biscuits.
