3 Days - Tour number AW1122
On this short break you will experience a day trip in coaches (‘charabanc’) used in the 40’s and 50’s, very different from the modern coach that you will travel to Essex in.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Essex and to Southend-on-Sea where you will visit the longest pleasure pier in the world and enjoy a return train ride after perhaps consuming a warming beverage in the Salt Café at the end this famous pier. Afterwards you will then travel to the hotel for a two night stay.
Day 2 The highlight of this tour. Travel through picture postcard villages with a top-notch Blue Badge guide and enjoy the beautiful vintage vehicle collection of Lodge Coaches on the cusp of their centenary. Take two little tours of the beautiful villages of The Rodings in jolly coaches from the 40s and 50s and have your photo taken with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! This bumper day out includes morning coffee, lunch and tea with biscuits.
