Itinerary

Aachen Christmas MarketDay 1 Morning departure to Dover for the sea crossing to Calais, continuing the journey to Valkenburg for a stay of four nights.

Day 2 Today travel to Aachen where the squares and streets around the Cathedral and the Town Hall are transformed into a paradise of lights and colours, festive sounds, smells and market stalls. Enjoy a wide variety of Printen and other cakes, biscuits, gingerbread, marzipan bread and of course glühwein.

Day 3 Valkenburg at leisure. Visit the oldest and most visited underground market in the Municipal Caves. With over 50 stalls with beautiful decorations and Christmas gifts. Above ground see the festive decorations in Santa’s village and marvel at the largest crib in Europe. NB: Entrance is included for the Municipal Caves only.

Day 4 A visit to Cologne with its seven Christmas markets around the city. There are four large markets at Cologne Cathedral with stalls arranged around a huge Christmas tree, the Alter Markt, the Neumarkt and Rudolfplatz. The aroma of foods and glühwein will waft through the alleyways whilst you shop and explore.
