Itinerary

Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey north and to your overnight stop.

Day 2 West Highlands to Skye: Travel along the shores of Loch Lomond, ‘The Queen of the Lochs’ and then Glencoe to Fort William for free time and lunch. Then travel along the Great Glen with loch and mountain scenery all the way. Stop for photos at Eilean Donan Castle, one of Scotland’s most photographed castles, before reaching your hotel in Skye for one night.

Day 3 Isle of Skye, Loch Maree and Gairloch: This morning you will travel round part of Skye, stopping in Portree, the island’s colourful capital for free time. before turning northwards into the vast region of Wester Ross and along the shores of Loch Maree, regarded as one of Scotland’s bonniest lochs to Gairloch. A chance to take in the highland air and stroll around the pretty harbour before checking into the hotel for one night, here in Gairloch.

Day 4 Caithness and Sutherland on Route 500: Today’s tour makes up a large part of the North Coast 500 and it will leave a lasting memory too. It is here you will feel Scotland in an entirely different way. Lunch is included at the Smoo Cave Hotel, Durness, and you will continue to Thurso for two nights.

Day 5 The Orkney Isle: This morning you will travel to Gills Bay to board the 40 minute ferry crossing across the Pentland Firth. On arrival, a private coach and driver awaits to commence a magical day on the Orkneys crossing the Churchill Barriers, visiting 2000 year old Skara Brae, Ring of Brodgar, the Italian Chapel and Kirkwall with its 12th century cathedral. Returning to Gills Bay and to the hotel.

Day 6 Inverness and Pitlochry: You will travel along the coastal road between Wick and Inverness, which passes many interesting places, including historical Helmsdale and white sands at Bora to Inverness for free time and lunch before continuing through the Spey Valley and over the Drumochter Pass to your last overnight stop in the Perthshire area.
