A delightful ‘typically English’ area of rolling hillsides and traditional honey coloured stone. The Cotswolds offers inspirational experiences and unique shops that you cannot find anywhere else.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Cirencester for lunch and free time before arriving at the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Scenic tour of the pretty Cotswold villages, taking you through Winchcombe to the picturesque Broadway where there will be a coffee stop. Continue on through Stow-on-the- Wold to delightful Bourton-on-the- Water, nicknamed the Venice of the Cotswolds. Enjoy the idyllic gardens, museums, interesting shops and a host of places to eat.
Day 3 Today travel to Stratford upon Avon, north of the Cotswolds and Shakespeare’s birthplace. We have included a sightseeing cruise on the River Avon with unique views of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, Holy Trinity Church and surrounding countryside. Free time before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 Today take the short journey to Cheltenham Racecourse Station to join the train on the GWSR to Toddington. Free time to visit the shop and before departing to Sudeley Castle and gardens, in the heart of the Cotswolds. The castle rooms and exhibits contain many fascinating treasures from ancient Roman times to present day, and outside the castle is surrounded by a breath-taking 1,200 acre estate and ten award-winning gardens. Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s six wives is buried within Sudeley’s grounds.
Day 5 After breakfast you will travel to Westonbirt where there are around 15,000 trees and shrubs from all over the globe. Time for lunch before commencing the home ward journey.
