Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the county of Shropshire and the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 A short journey into historic Shrewsbury, built on a loop of the River Severn. The city centre is a delight to wander around with many interesting black and white buildings. Take time to wander down to the Quarry Park and discover the garden created by Percy Thrower. In the afternoon we have included a 45 minute cruise on the River Severn followed by a cream tea before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 This morning you will travel to Ellesmere with its Mere-side promenade, visitor centre and the Cremorne Gardens where along the woodland walks, art and sculpture trails are there to enjoy. Later you visit Market Drayton.

Day 4 Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Shropshire Hills, stopping first in Church Stretton for a short while before continuing to Stokesay Castle, one of the finest and best-preserved fortified medieval manor houses in England. Discover the great hall, unchanged for over 700 years. Spot characters carved in the timbers of the 17th-century gatehouse, and if you feel energetic, climb to the top of a fairy-tale tower for breath-taking views of the Shropshire Hills. The castle is the best to visit to experience what medieval life was like. Afterwards you will travel to Ludlow with its impressive castle, delightful narrow lanes and interesting shops.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
