A journey through the beautiful counties of Lancashire and Yorkshire visiting villages and historic towns. Calling in to the home of famous family of authors, a scenic train ride and with entrance to a historic house.

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Barton in Lancashire and the hotel for a four night stay.Day 2 An excursion into Yorkshire and the delightful town of Skipton. Their market was voted the best small outside market in 2017. After free time you will travel to Settle to board the train and travel on a section of the famous Settle to Carlisle Railway enjoying the scenery before disembarking at Appleby. Rejoin the coach and travel through part of the Yorkshire Dales.
Day 3 Today cross from Red Rose to White Rose country, travelling over the Pennines to Haworth. Here visit the Bronte Parsonage, once lived in by the famous family of writers. After time in this lovely town, you will head back into Lancashire for a visit to the historic Helmshore Textile Museum before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 This morning travel to Hoghton Tower and Gardens, steeped in history and commanding breath- taking views across Lancashire. You will have a guided tour and you can visit the gardens offering a different burst of colour throughout the seasons. We have also included a buffet lunch for you to enjoy. After the visit you will visit Clitheroe before returning to the hotel mid- afternoon to relax.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.

Hotel Barton Grange Hotel
Once an old manor house, this hotel in Preston is now family run and has been extensively refurbished. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, telephone, hairdryer, iron/ironing board and tea/coffee making facilities. Lift, restaurant, bar, lounges, swimming pool, sauna and gym. There is also fresh milk and ice machines on each floor.
