Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Bowood House & Gardens, home of the Lansdowne Family and set in 2,000 acres of Grade I listed ‘Capability’ Brown parkland. Here enjoy a 60 minute guided tour to learn the rich and fascinating history followed by free time to explore the gardens and parkland. Continue on into Shakespeare country and to Stratford-upon-Avon for a three night stay.

Days 2 to 3 We have included the following excursions:

  • This morning we have included a relaxing 45 minute river cruise for you to enjoy unparalleled views of Holy Trinity (Shakespeare’s burial place), experience local water fowl and travel through one of the oldest and most iconic locks in the country. Afterwards you will have time to explore, the many shops, cafes and restaurants, visit Shakespeare’s birthplace or take a stroll along the river

  • Today vist the Shakespeare Gin Distillery, an artisan producer of historically themed spirits, including Stratford Gin. Here, we enjoy a guided tour and tasting experience, seeing how the drinks are made in the working distillery, discovering their history and ingredients, and finishing with a tutored tasting of the hand-crafted spirits, including a refreshing gin & tonic. Later visit Shakespeare’s Schoolroom & Guildhall where you will discover more about his early schooldays and where he first experienced theatre.

Day 4 After breakfast, check out and depart the hotel and head to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon. Here learn about the British motor industry through a captivating journey. From design and concepts, sports cars through to motorsports, the industry became a vital part of the economy and the lives of people living in the Midlands.
