Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey first to Lakeside Shopping Centre for some shopping and lunch before continuing your journey to Southend and the hotel for a three night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will visit the seaside at Southend and we have included a return train journey on the longest pleasure pier, perhaps have a cup of coffee in the Tea with the Tide café at the end of the pier. After some free time, you will travel to Langford and the Museum of Power. Housed in a former Water Pumping Station, the Museum contains a fascinating collection which ranges from working overhead belt driven machines to a petrol-powered iron. The jewel in their crown is the 'Lilleshall' triple expansion steam pump now back on steam after 50 years. Time for a self-guided tour and cuppa before returning to the hotel. 

Day 3 Today you will visit Audley End House and Gardens, to enjoy the spacious grounds and estate of one of England’s grandest mansions. Whether you are exploring the servant’s wing, state rooms, stables, kitchen garden or beautiful grounds, you will discover what life was like above and below stairs at a Victorian country house. After lunch you will depart for Blake House Craft Centre, a traditional shopping experience in the heart of Essex countryside. Once a traditional farmyard, now a hidden gem, full of rustic charm and houses a wide range of small and friendly local businesses.

Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
