National Botanic Gardens of WalesDay 1 Morning departure for the journey to South Wales and to Porthcawl for a four night stay.Days 2 – 4 We have included the following excursions for you to enjoy:-
• You will travel to Cardiff where you will have a guided coach tour of the city followed by some free time. Continue on to Llantrisant for a visit to the Royal Mint Experience and a guided tour of the production process followed by time to visit the static and interactive exhibits which bring the Mint’s heritage to life.
• A free day in Porthcawl. Just behind the seafront esplanade, you will find an exciting range of independent shops and cafés, alongside high street brands. On the harbour is the RNLI station and Wales’s oldest listed bonded warehouse, the Jennings Building, which is now a bustling waterside spot with cafés and restaurants. At lunchtime return to the hotel where you will be served a traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and a possible visit from Santa. During the afternoon there will be games to play and tea/coffee and mince pies on offer.
• Today you will travel to the National Botanic Gardens of Wales which covers over 500 acres of the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside. Here you will find the world’s largest single-span glasshouse in the world, which houses the largest collection of Mediterranean plants in the Northern Hemisphere.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey. Back to top

The hotel is one of Porthcawl’s most prominent buildings, situated on a headland, a short walk from the Grand Pavilion and John Street shops. There are spectacular views of the Bristol Channel and South Wales coast from the bar, restaurant and most bedrooms. All bedrooms are en-suite with TV, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities.
