Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Wales making a stop at Tredagar House (opens 12 pm) with its surrounding gardens and parkland which stands proudly at the heart of Newport’s heritage. Continue on to the hotel for a four night stay.
Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursions:
• Follow the banks of the River Usk between Abergavenny and Brecon on a journey through some of the most beautiful landscapes. You’ll find friendly villages, historic sites and countryside walks of every shape and size. (Brecon, Pencelli, Talybont-on-Usk, Newydd Bwlch, Llangynidr, Plas Derwen, Crickhowel, Abergavenny)
• Journey to Swansea with time to visit the market where you’ll find a fantastic selection of specialist stalls offering everything from fresh, local produce and delicious food to antiques and bespoke gifts. After lunch visit the National Waterfront Museum. With touch screen technology, 15 themed galleries each tell a different aspect of the story of industry and innovation in Wales over the last 300 years.
• Travel through the Bannau Brychieniog (Brecon Beacons) making a stop in the lovely old market town of Brecon, which nestles in the Usk Valley between the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. Continue on to the Grade II listed Craig Y Nos Castle for a light lunch followed by an historical tour. Discover the rich history of the castle, from being originally owned by world famous opera singer Adelina Patti to becoming a TB hospital!
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
