Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Cornwall and to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 A visit to Looe, a delightful fishing town, made up of East and West Looe, which face each other across the river. Relax and watch the world go by, explore its many gift shops or enjoy a local boat trip. To Polperro next, a maze of lanes and alleyways lead down to the traditional fishing village and unspoilt harbour, a true slice of Cornish beauty, where you can visit art and craft galleries and its very own Heritage Museum of Smuggling.
Day 3 An excursion to Jamaica Inn, high up on the wild and beautiful Bodmin Moor and made world-famous by Daphne du Maurier’s tale and Alfred Hitchcock’s film of murderous wreckers and rogues, with time to visit the Smugglers’ Museum where myths and legends of the Inn are bought to life. You will then enjoy a leisurely return train ride on the Bodmin & Wenford Railway through beautiful countryside, taking in the sights, sounds and smells of a bygone age.
Day 4 This morning we have included a visit to Lanhydrock House and Gardens, a magnificent late Victorian country house with gardens. Discover two sides of life in the house from the kitchens and servants to the luxurious family area and elegant living. Make sure you stroll around the extensive gardens and enjoy their year-round colour.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
