The Black Country has been defined as ‘the area where the coal seam comes to the surface’ and this tour gives you an insight into the heritage, culture and stories of times past.
PLEASE NOTE: Price is per person and based on two people sharing a twin/double room. Single room supplements and upgrades are not included.
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Telford and the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today visit Blists Hill Victorian Town Museum. It’s a living recreation of a 19th century town re-enacting life from the early 1700s to the Victorian era. Complete the day with a visit to Ironbridge to view the first cast-iron bridge and explore the town.
Day 3 Today takes us to Kidderminster to board the steam train for a 16 mile scenic journey on the Severn Valley Railway, through stunning countryside to Bridgnorth. Free time on arrival before travelling back to the hotel by coach.
Day 4 Travel to the Black Country Living Museum, one of the largest open air museums in the UK and dedicated to how life was lived in the 19th and early 20th centuries. An entire Black Country village recreated brick by brick, with vintage transport to ride and see how sweets, bread and nails are made.
Day 5 Breakfast, then commence the homeward journey.
