Itinerary
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Shropshire arriving late afternoon at the hotel for a four night stay.Day 2 Your visit today takes you to the British Ironworks Centre for coffee and a wander round before travelling to ‘where Shropshire meets Wales’, the vibrant market town of Oswestry. Time to explore and obtain lunch before travelling to Market Drayton with its modern buildings in the town centre mixed with find examples of 17th century black and white constructions. The town claims to be ‘home of the gingerbread’, which has been produced in the town for over 200 years.
Day 3 Today you will travel to the stunning town of Shrewsbury with its 660 listed buildings. Plenty of time to explore the town and spot the statue of Charles Darwin outside the library. Darwin was born in the town and went to Shrewsbury school. In the afternoon we have included a 45 minute round cruise along the River Severn for you to enjoy.
Day 4 A visit to the Black Country Living Museum, one of the most extraordinary open-air museums in the UK, offering a glimpse into 300 years of history like no other. Set in 26 acres, discover the story of the industrial revolution and the Black Country folk who changed the world. Also the popular TV series ‘Peaky Blinders’ was filmed here.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey. Back to top
