ItineraryItineraryDay 1 Early morning departure for the journey north, over the border at Gretna and onto Drymen for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today you will visit Duntreath Castle where you will be served morning coffee and home baking before having a guided tour by Lady Edmonstone and be able to admire the beautiful carpets of snowdrops. Afterwards you will travel to Aberfoyle, an enchanted village to explore before travelling to Loch Katrine for a 45 minute cruise of the Loch.
Day 3 An excursion to the fascinating city of Edinburgh with so much to see and do. First to the Ocean Terminal at Leith and the Royal Yacht Britannia where you can view the State Apartments, Admiral’s Quarters, Crew’s Quarters and maybe have a cuppa in the Royal Deck tearoom. Afterwards you will be taken into the centre of Edinburgh and perhaps visit the famous Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holyroodhouse – the Queens official Scottish residence, walk the Royal Mile, visit one of the many art galleries or just relax with a coffee.
Day 4 Today’s tour will take you to the other side of Loch Lomond and on the breath-taking route over the ‘Rest and be Thankful’ Pass, the highest point on the A83 at 803ft. above sea level and it divides Glen Kinglas from Glen Croe. Continuing onto the Royal Burgh of Inveraray on Loch Fyne and have some free time to explore the town. You will then travel by way of Crainlarich to Callander, a bustling tourist town situated on the River Teith. It is set dramatically beneath high, wooded crags and gained fame as the location for the original Doctor Findlay’s Casebook TV series.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey. NB: A carpet of snowdrops is a sight to behold and cannot be guaranteed. Flowering time is very late January to March but the weather can affect flowering times. Back to top
