Itinerary

Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to Denby Dale in West Yorkshire and the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 This morning you will visit the pretty town of Holmfirth where the rivers Holme and Ribble meet. It featured for many years in the long running sit-com ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and retains the quaint charm of bygone years. In the afternoon travel through spectacular scenery to Glossop at the gateway to the Peak District and nestled at the foot of the famous Snake Pass. The 12th century town has pretty stone cottages and evidence of Glossop's prosperous past, built on cotton in the 19th and 20th centuries. The Mills have been imaginatively renovated to house a wide selection of shops, pubs and a hotel.

Day 3 Discover Leeds day. Leeds is the largest city in West Yorkshire, where you will find a world of culture, art and shopping. Visit the Royal Armouries which houses the national collection of arms and artillery. Kirkgate Market is without doubt one of the most recognisable and best loved landmarks in the city. The majestic Grade 1 listed building dates back to 1857.

Day 4 This morning visit Knaresborough, with its ancient walkways, cobbled alleys, magnificent viaduct and breathtaking countryside views. Time to explore before travelling to Harrogate for the afternoon.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
