Itinerary
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Sheffield and the hotel for a four night stay.Day 2 This morning you will head to the thermal spa town of Buxton, home of Buxton Water. You will begin with the Buxton Crescent Experience guided tour, set within the stunning Grade 1 listed crescent building, consisting of nine themed rooms and explore more than 10,000 years of history. Afterwards time for lunch at the Pavilion Gardens (not included) before embarking on a half day step-on guided tour of the ‘Hidden Villages’, taking in some of the charming locations in Derbyshire.
Day 3 Today you will travel to the Eyam Plague Village to visit the museum in the Peak District, where in 1665 the village cut itself off from the outside world when the plague arrived in a parcel sent to the local tailor. You will then travel to Castleton for a short break for a snack before continuing through the peaks to Whaley Bridge where you will enjoy 2 hours of peaceful cruising along the stunning Upper Peak Forest Canal to New Mills, whilst enjoying a cream tea.
Day 4 Start the day with a visit to Brodsworth Hall and Gardens, described as one of the most complete and best- preserved Victorian country houses and filming location of the war drama film, Darkest Hour. In the afternoon you will visit Sheffield’s Meadowhall Centre with independent shops and eateries before returning to the hotel.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
