Day 1 Morning departure for the journey north to the Lake District and to Grange-over- Sands for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today visit Dove Cottage, and the Wordsworth Museum in Grasmere. Time for lunch before travelling through St John's in the Vale to Dalemain House and Gardens where visitors can enjoy four centuries of house architecture, five acres of gardens, historic parkland and a medieval hall tearoom in this peaceful corner of the Lake District.
Day 3 To Windermere for a relaxing 40 minute cruise to Bowness. Time to explore, before rejoining the coach to continue our tour of the lakes.
Day 4 The highlight is your Mountain Goat Experience. Travel in 16 seat mini-coaches for “The High Adventure tour”. This tour focuses around the Western Lake District travelling over the Wrynose and Hardknott passes, the steepest in England, stopping to view the extraordinary remains of Hardknott Roman Fort 1000ft up on the fells. See the spectacular views to Upper Eskdale, Scafell and Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountains. A stop for lunch in Eskdale before boarding the L’all Ratty on the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway. In the afternoon you will drive onward to “Britain’s Favourite View”, Wastwater, England’s deepest and most dramatic lake. Our next destination is the splendid 14th Century Muncaster Castle surrounded by its internationally acclaimed gardens and famous for its World Owl Trust. The beautiful scenery of the Coniston Fells and Coniston Water bring to an end this classic of all Lake District tours. This tour cannot be operated in a normal size coach.
Day 5 Breakfast, then commence the homeward journey.
