Regency Cheltenham And The Cotswolds

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey into Gloucestershire and to the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 Free morning in Cheltenham, Britain’s most complete regency town, brimming with history. You will have time to explore and have lunch before heading to Cheltenham Racecourse to board the Gloucester Warwickshire train to the nearby town of Broadway, for some free time before re-joining the coach to return to the hotel.

Day 3 Today you will be driven to some of the pretty honey-coloured villages, starting first with Bourton-on-the-Water, known as the ‘Little Venice’ of the Cotswolds due to its low bridges crossing the River Windrush and also famed for its model village. You will then head to the pretty market town of Stow-on- the-Wold, perched on Stow Hill at 800 metres above sea level, making it the highest village in the Cotswolds. Free time to obtain some lunch and wander through the village before your final visit to Chipping Campden, noted for its terraced high street, thatched cottages and an array of small and quirky shops.

Day 4 Today you will pass by Stroud, known as ‘the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds’ to Cirencester, ‘capital of the Cotswolds’ with time to explore before travelling through Tetbury, where the home of HRH Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall is at Highgrove. Arriving at Chavenage House, a stunning 16th century manor house, which has been featured as ‘Trenwith’, the Poldark family manor from the popular TV series.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
