Day 1 Morning departure to Folkestone for the 35 minute Channel Tunnel crossing to Calais and on to your overnight stop in Dijon, bed & breakfast. (No dinner included tonight) but hotel has a restaurant on-site.
Day 2 Continue your journey south to Martigues to board the ship at 6:00 p.m. After comfortably settling into your cabins, enjoy a welcome cocktail with the crew before dinner. You will remain in port overnight.
Day 3 PORT-SAINT-LOUIS - ARLES - AVIGNON We'll begin to cruise in the morning for Port-Saint-Louis. Join the included excursion of a panoramic guided tour of the Camargue. Sit back and admire the rivers, marshes, ponds, pink flamingos, black bulls and the famous, indigenous Camargue horses. Discover the salt and rice fields that make the area so well known. Visit a Manade and learn about the work of a Manadier as you watch a demonstration of how they work with the animals they raise. We’ll return on board in Arles. This afternoon, an optional excursion: Guided tour of Arles on foot. You’ll be amazed by its vestiges from the Roman Empire. Bookable on board 22 euros.
Day 4 AVIGNON - VIVIERS This morning an included excursion: Guided tour of Avignon and the Papal Palace, one of the largest and most important medieval Gothic buildings in Europe. The afternoon will be spent cruising towards Viviers, where there is an optional guided tour on foot of the city. Bookable on board 24 euros. Remain in port overnight.
Day 5 VIVIERS - TAIN L'HERMITAGE Today an included excursion : A panoramic view of the impressive deep valleys, dense vegetation and granite and volcanic rocks that line the Gorges de Ardeche. We’ll return on board in La Voulte. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 6 TAIN L'HERMITAGE - VIENNE - LYON Cruise towards Vienne this morning. Join the optional excursion: guided tour on foot of Vienne—once the capital of a Roman province, numerous Roman vestiges are still visible in modern Vienne. Bookable on board 20 euros. Returning on board, then cruise towards Lyon, where there is an included guided tour of the city. You will discover the second largest city in France, situated at the confluence of the Rhône and the Saône. Return on board and depart at nightfall to admire the city lights. Arrive in Trevoux and remain in port overnight.
Day 7 TOURNUS - CHALON-SUR-SAONE Cruise early in the morning towards Tournus. Join the included excursion: visit Beaune and its famous Hospices, whose facade is today regarded as a superior example of Northern Renaissance civic architecture. Continue along the Burgundy Wine Route and through villages with names that evoke the great French wines. Then return on board in Chalon-sur-Saône at the end of the afternoon. Tonight is the gala evening. Remain in port overnight.
Day 8 CHALON-SUR-SAONE - LYON Enjoy one last buffet breakfast before disembarking here in Lyon and journey to the overnight stop in Reims.
Day 9 To Calais for the Channel Tunnel crossing to Folkestone and onwards to your pick-up point.
NB: for navigational reasons and passenger safety, Croisi- Europe and the captain reserve the right to modify the cruise itinerary if necessary.
