This tour explores the dramatic scenery and rich heritage of the Peak District.

ItineraryMatlock Bath by Linda Bussey
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Derby with an included visit to Melbourne Hall Gardens to admire before continuing on to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Travelling to the north of the Peak District you reach Holmfirth, home to the TV Series "Last of the Summer Wine". Hunt out Sid's Cafe and visit the Summer Wine Exhibition (included in cost).
Day 3 Travel to Bakewell, home of the Bakewell Pudding for a short stop before travelling on to Haddon Hall, set in the heart of the beautiful Peak District National Park. Described as ‘the most perfect house to survive from the Middle Ages’ with its Elizabethan terraced gardens which overlook the River Wye. The house and gardens have been used by film makers for many films and dramas as it is also recognised as one of the most romantic houses in Britain. Late afternoon you will travel to Rowsley for a nostalgic train ride to Matlock on the Peak Railway before returning to the hotel.
Day 4 Today travel to Buxton, with its architecture, parks and famous crescent for free time. This afternoon’s route takes you via Chapel-en-Firth and Glossop and across the Snake Pass, with spectacular scenery. You will make a visit to the Eyam Plague Village, where in 1665 the village cut itself off from the outside world when the plague arrived in a parcel sent to the local tailor.
Day 5 Breakfast, then commence the homeward journey.
