Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the hotel in Mickleover, Derbyshire for a four night stay.
Day 2 This morning you will travel north to the Derwent Valley and to Duffield. Here you will join the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway for a ride through picturesque countryside to Wirksworth. Re-joining the coach you will head to Matlock, a delightful Peak District town where you have time for lunch before heading to the Heights of Abraham. Here you will take the cable car high above the Derwent Valley up to Hilltop Park, where you can visit one of the many attractions included in your ticket. You will have plenty of time to explore and chill in the Terrace Café looking at the stunning views.
Day 3 Today you will enjoy a scenic drive into the stunning Peak District, by way of Leek and Whaley Bridge to Glossop. Then travel along the Snake Pass to Ladybower Reservoir taking in some breath-taking views along the way (subject to the Pass being open) and on to Castleton for some free time before returning to hotel.
Day 4 This morning you will travel to Bakewell, idyllically situated on the banks of the river Wye, the biggest town in the Peak District National Park, with its mellow stone buildings, medieval five-arched stone bridge and quaint courtyards. During your visit make sure you take a look around the town and, why not visit the Olde Original Bakewell Pudding shop to enjoy the famous pudding with a cuppa. In the afternoon you will visit the stunning Chatsworth House and gardens. Explore over 25 rooms in the stately home and discover its art, history and family. Also explore the historic garden and discover lots of hidden gems.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
