Orchids At Kew And Thames Cruise

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Kew Gardens. See the central horticultural display of orchids at the heart of the Princess of Wales Conservatory, alongside some of the Malagasy orchids that are cared for at Kew, carry on to the conservation centre where the scientists conduct vital research to protect the native plants and wildlife. Time then to explore the rest of the gardens including the Temperate House and discover rare and threatened plants in the world’s largest Victorian glasshouse. You can visit the café for lunch and beverages and perhaps look around the gift shop and plant area. Afterwards you will re-join the coach and travel to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2 This morning you will board a boat at the Windsor Promenade for a 2 hour cruise. You will travel upstream past the famous Royal Windsor Racecourse and Eton college before heading downstream to see the most famous view of Windsor castle from the river. During the cruise you will be served a rustic ploughman’s lunch. At 13.00 hours you will return to Windsor and re-join the coach and travel to Beaconsfield and spend the afternoon at the world’s oldest model village, Bekonscot, portraying rural England as it was in the 1930’s and you will also be served a lovely cream tea before departing at 16.45 hours and commence the homeward journey.
