ItineraryItinerary Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Newquay and to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today you will head to Padstow where out of season there is more time and space to appreciate the beauty of the area. Soak up the atmosphere on the quay and the local shops, or just stroll along the deserted shoreline. Then the journey continues to Tintagel and to Boscastle, one of Cornwall’s most picturesque harbours. A place steeped in history and once a favourite haunt of Thomas Hardy and where he met his wife Emma.
Day 3 This morning you will travel to Mevagissey, the second largest fishing port in Cornwall. The harbour is beautiful, historic and hosts a thriving fishing industry. Free time to explore before departing for the ‘Lost Gardens of Heligan’, with over 200 acres to explore the largest garden restoration in Europe. The gardens are bursting with romance and intrigue around every pathway and corner. If you are looking for breath-taking surroundings, history, horticulture and wildlife in the heart of the Cornish countryside, you will find it here.
NB: Make sure you wear sensible footwear and clothing.
Day 4 A half day excursion to Cornwall’s only city, Truro. Visit the famous cathedral or take a look in the Royal Cornwall Museum and learn about the Cornish way of life and culture.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
