Itinerary
Itinerary
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Kent and to the hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 This morning you will visit Chartwell, which was purchased by Sir Winston Churchill in 1922 and used as his main base during the ‘20s and ‘30s for writing, painting and entertaining. Housing the largest collection of Churchill’s paintings and filled with treasures from every aspect of his life, the rooms remain much as they were when he lived there. The hillside gardens, must be explored, to reflect Churchill’s love of the landscape and nature – including the lakes he created. In the afternoon you will visit the Biggin Hill Memorial Museum, situated on the same site as St George’s RAF Chapel of Remembrance, built in 1951 to remember those who served and died at Biggin Hill during the Second World War. A 1-hour guided tour follows the story of RAF Biggin Hill through an exceptional collection of stories and objects of those who served there. During your visit, we have included scones with tea/coffee.
Day 3 Today you have a full day to visit the home of time, Greenwich, where you can explore its famous attractions such as the Royal Observatory, the Old Naval College, Maritime Museum and Greenwich Park before heading to the Cutty Sark in the afternoon. During your guided tour you will learn about the life of this historic tea clipper, and afterwards enjoy an afternoon tea.
