Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Lincolnshire and the hotel for a four night stay.

Day 2 Today you will visit the historic city of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral and Norman Castle. First you will meet your guide for a familiarisation tour of the city on the coach. You will then have time to get some lunch and look around this fascinating city. The old town is a labyrinth of little alleyways and interesting shops to explore and there are plenty of tea rooms. Later in the day you will enjoy a guided tour of the Cathedral before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 Today you will spend the day at Grimsthorpe Castle, Park and Estate. On arrival you will enjoy tea/coffee and biscuits before partaking in a one hour guided coach tour of Grimsthorpe Park. Returning for an included lunch before a private guided tour of the Castle where you can view many magnificent state rooms (access to and from rooms on first floor is by two flights of stairs). Once the tour is over you will have time to explore the gardens and visit the tea rooms for afternoon refreshments.

Day 4 This morning you will travel to the attractive and bustling market town of Sleaford, located on the River Slea and Sleaford Canal, whose skyline is dominated by the 144 foot stone spire of St Denys’ Church. Sleaford is home to the nationally acclaimed National Centre for Craft and Design which you may like to visit. Time for lunch before travelling to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, a living memorial to those of Bomber Command, where you will experience the atmosphere of a WW2 bomber airfield and well worth a visit.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
