Hoghton Tower by ianpreston - FlickrDay 1 Morning departure for the journey north to Lancashire and to Chorley for a four night stay.Day 2 Today you will visit the UK’s most popular holiday destination of Blackpool with its three fine piers, magnificent sandy beaches, the famous Tower, Pleasure beach and the trams.
Day 3 This morning you will travel to what was once Europe’s largest inland dock, Preston Docklands. Discover what the docks have to offer by strolling around taking in the Marina, along with its variety of backdrops and rich history. Plenty of places to visit and a selection of nearby eateries. In the afternoon head to Hoghton Tower, steeped in history with commanding breath-taking views across Lancashire. You will have a guided tour and you can visit the gardens offering a different burst of colour throughout the seasons.
Day 4 Travel to Southport with free time to explore. Why not take a stroll along Southport Pier, the oldest iron pier and second longest in the UK. Time for an early lunch before travelling to Riley Green Marina for a narrow boat cruise along the Leeds Liverpool Canal whilst enjoying a Lancashire cream tea.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
