Itinerary

ItineraryDay 1 Morning departure for the journey north and to the hotel for an overnight stop.

Day 2 Today take the morning ferry to Arran. Time to explore the island’s capital Brodick, before a tour of the island, visiting Lamlash, Whiting Bay and Blackwaterfoot. Enjoy free time at Sense of Arran and Arran Cheese before boarding the late afternoon ferry from Lochranza to the Mull of Kintyre, with a drive along Loch Fyne to your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 3 This morning board the ferry for the three hour sailing to the Queen of the Hebrides – Islay. The tour visits Bowmore, the island capital, with its round church, where spirits have nowhere to hide! This is followed by a tastier spirit – a tour and tasting at a whisky distillery. Afterwards, spend time at the ‘Big Strand’ on Laggan Bay with 6 miles of unspoilt sandy beach, before travelling across the island to catch the Port Askaig ferry back to the mainland.
NB: Breakfast or dinner served on ferry dependant on ferry schedule.

Day 4 Some free time in Inveraray before travelling along Loch Awe to Oban ‘Gateway to the Isles’ for some free before passing through Fort William. The road to the Isles is recognised as one of the best drives in the UK, stopping off at Glenfinnan where you have every chance of seeing the Harry Potter train. You will arrive in Mallaig for a two night stay.

Day 5 ‘Over the sea to Skye’ with its wealth of history from Jacobite battles to feuding clans with evidence of the Highland clearances still very much in evidence. The island is abundant in wildlife and the scenery ever changing from the patchwork of velvet moors to jagged mountains and towering sea cliffs. Your tour today makes the most of the island visiting Portree the island capital and Dunvegan Castle for a visit – home of the Macleod Clan for over 800 years.

Day 6 Enjoy a leisurely journey south, arriving at the Nevis Gondala cable car, the only one of its kind in the UK. Marvel at the impressive scenic view as you are carried 650m up the north face of Aonoch Mor. Afterwards enjoy a short visit to Fort William before travelling through Glencoe and the shoreline of Loch Lomond arriving at your hotel for your final night of the tour.

Day 7 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
