Hertfordshire is full of history and based at the Comet Hotel, named after the locally built de Havilland Comet aeroplane. You will enjoy a cruise on the canal and visit the Hatfield House.

St Albans Cathedral - Flickr by Mark FoshDay 1 Morning departure to travel to delightful Henley-on-Thames where you will have time for lunch and perhaps a stroll along the river. Departing mid-afternoon to continue the journey to Hatfield and the hotel for a four night stay.
Days 2 to 3 We have included the following excursions:
• Travel to St Albans for a morning at leisure in this ancient city with plenty to explore, including the impressive Cathedral. After lunch continue to Ware to join the Lee & Stort Co. 2 hour boat trip on the River Lee with an included cream tea.
• A visit to nearby Hatfield House, built between 1607 and 1611, this fine Jacobean house joins the site of the Old Palace of Hatfield. Hatfield House is the home of the 7th Marquess and Marchioness of Salisbury and their family. With stunning examples of Jacobean craftsmanship throughout the house and several gardens and attractions to explore there is something for everyone.
Day 4 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
