ItineraryLoch Lomond © Visit Scotland
Day 1 Early morning departure for the journey north into Scotland and to Symington for a stay of four nights.
Day 2 Today you will first visit the 15th century Rosslyn Chapel, a truly compelling and unique building surviving the turbulent times of the Reformation. It is one of the most famous chapels in the world surrounded by myths and legends of the ‘Holy Grail’. Then onto Edinburgh, a bustling and vibrant city steeped in history, with many extraordinary museums and art galleries to visit, perhaps stroll through the formal gardens and see the autumn colours, take a walk along the Royal Mile or visit the famous castle.
Day 3 Travel to the Trossachs, recognised as an area of outstanding beauty. You will stop in the main villages of Callander, Aberfoyle and Drymen before driving to the southern shoreline of Loch Lomond with free time at Lomond Shores and take in the views of the Loch. You will then return by way of Glasgow to the hotel.
Day 4 A visit to Alloway where we have included a visit to the Robbie Burns Museum and birthplace cottage. Walk along the Poets Path where there are statues to celebrate scenes from Tan O’ Shanter and perhaps get a glimpse of the Brig O’ Doon. Afterwards return to the hotel via the coastal road.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
