Day 1 Morning departure to Capel Manor Gardens, a beautiful 30 acre estate with over 60 different styled gardens to admire. Then continue to the hotel for a four night stay.
Day 2 Today travel to Bury St Edmunds through some Suffolk villages including Sudbury and Long Melford. Free time for lunch before continuing by way of Stowmarket and Needham Market to Helmingham Hall. Here you will enjoy the serenity and tranquillity of the gardens with their herbaceous borders, walled kitchen garden and hybrid musk roses. NB: On the Oct date you will visit Melford Hall and if you are interested in art, naval military history or Beatrix Potter there’s something for everyone. The route may vary slightly from the one shown above.
Day 3 A scenic drive will take you through the Dedham Vale and Stour Valley. An area of outstanding beauty en route to East Bergholt, where John Constable was born. Enjoy some free time before travelling to Beth Chatto Gardens. The gardens began in 1960 from an overgrown wasteland with poor gravel, soil and boggy hollows. It has been transformed into an informal garden harmonising with the surrounding countryside.
Day 4 Travel to the coastal town of Aldeburg, with fishing boats pulled up onto the beach and with a charming High Street, enjoy free time here before travelling to the Suffolk Punch Trust, here you will be able to see the gentle giant Suffolk Punch horses, take a wagon ride, see rare breed farm animals as well as the museum of rural life and heritage garden.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
