This tour takes you to the Potteries to enjoy the Easter weekend. Attractions include the delightful gardens on the Trentham Estate, a chance to learn about pottery heritage at Gladstone Potteries and
the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. We have also incorporated a visit to Stafford, Lichfield and the Arboretum.

Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Staffordshire, arriving at the hotel in the afternoon. Tea/coffee & biscuits will be served on arrival.

Day 2 The morning begins with a visit to the award-winning Trentham Gardens. The garden has been expertly revived by Chelsea Flower Show winner Tom Stuart-Smith into what is regularly described as one of the finest gardens in England. At this time of year, the highlight is the wonderful colours of tulips. Afterwards, there is time to explore the shopping village where there is an extensive garden centre as well as over 80 timber lodges of independent and high street retailers. This afternoon make the short journey to Gladstone Potteries Museum. This factory displays all the original features as the only remaining complete Victorian pottery factory. You will learn about the process of pottery making and the heritage that has made this area famous.

Day 3 Happy Easter! Start the day with a drive to the city of Lichfield. There is much to see and do, particularly the stunning Lichfield Cathedral, set in a remarkable and serene close. Over 800 years old, the building is the third on the site and is well worth a visit. Enjoy lunch at leisure and a chance to explore the city before our afternoon visit to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas.

Day 4 After a leisurely breakfast, depart to commence the journey home.
