East Of England - Cambridge

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to the East of England and to the Cambridge area for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 Spend a full day in the city of Cambridge where there is so much for you to see and do. Visit the University of Cambridge, Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge Botanic Garden or perhaps take a punt along the river. We have included the following excursions:

• A visit to Wimpole Estate to explore the gardens and enjoy a coffee before the hall opens. You will enjoy the rich history and how the many different owners all put their mark on the architecture and interior design of the building. Wimpole has many impressive and interesting features, from the entrance hall to the humble servant’s quarters, to explore. NB: The first floor is not usually open to the public.

• A visit to Ely, nestling in the Fen countryside and in the shadow of its magnificent cathedral with a wealth of attractions and things to do. Spend the morning here before travelling to Saffron Walden, a picturesque, medieval town just 15 miles south of Cambridge. It has a rich heritage of old buildings reflecting its wealth as a rural market town.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
