Itinerary

River Exe Cruise

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to East Devon and to Exmouth for a four night stay.

Days 2 to 4 We have included the following excursion

  • A free morning in Exmouth, one of the most picturesque seaside towns in Devon. The town is the gateway to the World Heritage Jurassic Coast and has two miles of sandy beach, an indoor market and a range of shops to be explored amongst the splendid regency architecture. To discover the history, follow the Blue Plaque heritage trail and explore the heritage of the area. We have included an afternoon cruise up the River Exe with a traditional cream tea the Devon way for you to enjoy.
  • Travel to Exeter, one of the most vibrant, attractive and historically interesting cities in England. Time to visit the magnificent cathedral, the beautiful Quayside and the Royal Albert Memorial Museum where you can explore the city’s 2,000-year history under one roof. After lunch you will visit Budleigh Salterton, a beautiful rural setting within East Devon National Landscapes. The coastline forms the western most section of Jurassic coast and the cliffs on either side of the town are composed of unique red Devonian sandstone.
  • A visit to the Victorian seaside town of Dawlish with its decorative flower beds, quaint shops and Dawlish brook, that runs through the town and is home to the famous black swans. Then onto Teignmouth, a historic port, at the mouth of the River Teign estuary. It has all the attractions of a seaside town including a Victorian pier and a thriving mixture of shopping areas and interesting back streets.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey
