Itinerary

Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to North Devon and Ilfracombe for a four night stay.

Day 2 Today you will visit the intriguing Regency house and gardens of Arlington Court, an unexpected jewel on the edge of Exmoor and including the NT Carriage Museum. The museum houses vehicles ranging from ornate silver plated coaches to humble carts used to carry servants. Afterwards you will travel to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth, where you will take the Cliff Railway, the unique Victorian water powered funicular cliff lift (disabled access is limited) from Lynmouth to Lynton, enjoying the stunning views as you glide up the 862 ft. length of track between these two historic towns.

Day 3 A free day to explore Ilfracombe with its awardwinning aquarium, the unique Tunnel Beaches and the fascinating Ilfracombe Museum or take a stroll along the promenade to discover the delights of the historic harbour and seafront. (Lunch included on Oct date).

Day 4 A scenic circular tour takes you first to the historic fishing village of Clovelly. A traffic free cobbled street heads you down a steep hill to the ancient fishing harbour with glorious views on the way of, flower-bedecked cottages, winding side-alleys and Clovelly’s famous donkeys on the way. You will also enjoy cream tea on arrival. After the visit you will travel to Bude and then return to the hotel by way of Holsworthy, Hatherleigh and Great Torrington.

Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the Thomeward journey.
