Dickens House MuseumDay 1 Morning departure to the stunning Leeds Castle ‘the Loveliest Castle in the World’ for a visit before continuing on to the hotel for a three night stay.
Day 2 Today a visit to Historic Chatham Dockyard. We have included a knowledgeable guide to take you round by coach allowing you to discover its maritime history through its buildings, architecture, ships and people, before some free time for you to explore. In the afternoon travel onto Rochester, with its history dating back for many centuries. Perhaps follow the Dicken’s trail, maps are available from the Medway Visitor Information Centre in the High Street.
Day 3 A scenic drive along the coast taking in Faversham, Whitstable and Herne Bay to the beautiful seaside resort of Broadstairs, and visit Dickens House Museum (no disabled access). The museum is housed within the building that inspired the author’s description of Betsey Trotwood’s cottage in ‘David Copperfield’.
Day 4 After breakfast, you will travel to one of England’s most romantic gardens at Sissinghurst Castle to explore before continuing the homeward journey
