Itinerary
Day 1 Morning departure for the journey to Devon and to Bideford for a four night stay.Day 2 A visit to Ilfracombe for some free time to explore this seaside town before travelling to Barnstable with its unique and colourful history and you will see a mix of old and new as you wander round the town. You must visit the Pannier Market where you can sample some of the local food produced by proud local farmers, fishermen and bakers.
Day 3 A short day scenic drive through stunning Exmoor National Park with a stop at Lynmouth. You will return to the hotel for 15.00 hours to enjoy ‘Happy Hour’ and dinner.
Day 4 Today you will visit Arlington Court and the National Trust Carriage Museum. A complete family estate with a collection of treasures for all tastes. Explore the house with its homely interior, the stables with elegant carriages for every occasion from cradle to grave, the colourful Victorian flower garden and productive walled kitchen garden. Enjoy a light lunch in the Old Kitchen tea rooms. You will return to the hotel and at 15.00 hours partake in a sparkling cream tea consisting of a Devon scone, clotted cream, jam and a glass of bubbly.
Day 5 After breakfast, depart the hotel and commence the homeward journey.
